Lord of the Blings
Last Saturday, I dropped by Goldenhills (at Greenhills) to get:
Woohoo! *thumbs up*
Side story: It's been a while since I've been to Greenhills. I must say that the place has greatly improved! I didn't get to check out the place due to time constraints... It's something to look forward to. =)
From Greenhills, I walked (it's not that far, really) towards Santolan/Annapolis MRT Station. I was on my way to Pantranco (along Quezon Ave) to meet Dionne, as we have a food tasting appointment with Swan Catering. Because we were not expecting to have a lunch-like session, we had some fries (beef and cheese) at Jollibee.
At Swan, we were met by Rose, and were immediately immersed in the food tasting. Grabe, they served us the whole menu that we wanted! From the crispy okoy (crispy kangkong is still our choice, but this is still OK) to the pumpkin soup to the bbq spare ribs to the grilled tuna to the buko pandan crepe (and more)! Now, that's what I call food tasting! Hehe!
How was the food? If having a few leftovers because we were already very full is any indication, it was great! Especially the tuna, the taste of which explodes once it touches the tounge... Over dessert, we talked to Rose regarding our questions and concerns. We told her that we still need to discuss some things (i.e. compute) and we will get back to her by this week.
From Quezon Ave, we trooped back to the MRT. This time, we were on our way to Coconut Palace, as a favor to a friend (who's also doing us a big favor in turn, but whom we will not yet name so as not to spoil the surprise) who wants to book the place for a December 2007 event. We were running a little late at this point, as we were supposed to have a 530PM dinner in preparation for the 7PM videoke at Redbox.
We rode a taxi towards Greenbelt 1 for dinner at Banana Leaf, which turned out to be closed, so we had to look for another place... Tada! There's another Banana Leaf at Glorietta 4. =)
We were joined by Mon (he took the picture above), (L-R) Joyce, Paulo (sleeping), Lu, Dax, Michelle and Tet. Over dinner, it was decided that Redbox won't be pushing through, and we'll have coffee instead. Though some dishes were spicy (as expected), overall, we had a blast as the food was ... orgasmic (as the sore-eyed Christophe would probably put it, had he been there). =)
Highlight of the night: A waitress asked if we would like to have dessert (I remember Joyce saying that they had great cakes there, according to Sparkle, who was Dionne's classmate from college and who was going to be introduced to Dax soon... anyway, back to the story), (almost) everybody answered, without batting an eyelash, "Nah, we'll be having it at Starbucks!"
So on we went to Starbucks at 6750. By this time, Paulo (who was sleeping earlier) was fully recharged. This Unilab poster boy was the other highlight of the night, as he entertained us with his "singing", dancing and other antics. Take a good look at him now before he starts breaking girls' hearts:
A fitting heir to the original poster boy?
Definitely!
The following day, we were scheduled for another food tasting. This time, Baler, Q.C. was our destination for our session with Robert Camba Catering. We were met by Connie and started on the discussions immediately. When we ran out of questions, we had a sample of their menu. The roast beef was absolutely orgasmic... We also had a peek of their setup... Nice! They're offering free use of their Tiffany chairs! (But limited to the first 2 bookings per day.) Connie told us that they have, so far, only 1 booking for June 10... We told her that we'll think about the quotation and get back to her by this week.
So, which one is it: Swan or Robert Camba? Abangan.
That afternoon, we went to SM San Lazaro to do our weekly grocery. And shop for our get-up for next week's pre-nup with Karl and Mimi. We're quite excited about this one... Abangan uli.
