Corpse Bride

Last night Joven and I, together with my officemates, watched the advance screening of Corpse Bride. Bon swiped the tickets from a friend who in turn got them from one of the ambassadors here at the Department (merci Bon!).

The verdict?

I liked it, Joven didn't. (probably one of the few things we didn’t agree upon)

He said that some scenes were dragging and boring. I would say otherwise. =)

I loved every minute of it! Other than it being bride related (haha!), there are a lot of things that I loved about it.

I love animated films. It has been quite a while since I saw one that really caught my attention. I wanted to watch it since I saw the preview from Cinderella Man. Joven didn't want to see it but because of the free tickets and the meeting-free night, he didn't have an excuse. =D

I found a lot of scenes funny. It’s interesting how Tim Burton depicted the world of the living as drab and dreary while the world of the dead as colorful and "lively." The images were funny too! You can imagine real people looking like them. =D

The characters are amusing. You'd never know what they'd do next. =) I was initially surprised when they broke into a song at the start of the movie, then I remembered his other movie, The Nightmare Before Christmas. I also love the songs! It's a pity that the audio system of Galleria was not functioning well. It would have been a blast. =)

All in all, for me the movie has more plusses than minuses. =)
