The Story of Us

Last Sunday, Joven and I watched The Story of Us. We bought the VCD some months ago but didn't have the time to see it. With nothing to do, I asked Joven for us to see the film (instead of watching basketball again). I've seen the film a couple of times and it never fails to make me cry.

It was a good film in the sense that it will make you think of married life. The problems of the couple are very real and the scary part is... it could happen to anyone. These are two people madly in love with each other until they got caught up with the daily grind and eventually lost sight of each other. I am not saying that it will not happen to us... but at least we're now both aware that it could. At least we promised ourselves that we won't let it happen to us. A few hours after the film, we still can't get it out of our minds. We sat down, pen and paper at hand and began writing our 10-year-of-being-married goals. Our 10 goals include material things, number of children, and the promise of still being happily married. =)

If you're married, getting married, or just thinking of getting married, I hope you get to see this film.

i've seen the film and i totally agree with you. there's this little book that i think both of you should read. it contains about six hundred questions--ranging from the most trivial to the most thought-provoking--that every couple should answer TOGETHER. Then compare your answers and discuss them so you can arrive at a compromise. Settling matters before tying the knot would make your marriage stronger. sometimes, how you squeeze your toothpaste tube becomes the cause of a major quarrel. As they say, you should prepare for the marriage more than the wedding. the wedding lasts for a day; your marriage would last a lifetime. 'Glad you're both open to planning ahead.

Hay naku, that movie always reminds me of Edil and me :D In a nice way, of course - since they still ended up together and loving each other more.

It's good that you have your reception covered!
